We built this shirt for the months when anything heavier stops being wearable. The fabric is pure linen in a soft mid-gray, cut with a full sleeve and a clean button-up front — the kind of shirt that handles a work day, an evening out, and everything in between without changing character.

Why linen, and why gray

Linen breathes in a way cotton blends cannot. The weave stays open, air moves through it, and the shirt sits away from the skin instead of clinging in humidity. We chose gray deliberately. It is the most forgiving color in a warm climate — it does not wash out under harsh light, and it works against black, white, beige, and denim without any thought.

How we suggest styling it

Tucked into straight-cut trousers, this reads smart-casual and holds up in an office. Left open over a plain tee, it becomes a layer. Rolled sleeves with denim is the version we see most often. Pair it with something from our Bottoms collection for the full look.

Button up or button down?

Buyers ask us this constantly, so here it is plainly. A button-down has small buttons fastening the collar tips to the shirt body. A button-up simply means the shirt fastens down the front. This one is a button-up with a free spread collar — which is why it drapes rather than sits rigid, and why it suits casual wear better than a stiff formal shirt.

Care

Hand wash gently or machine wash up to 30°C on a gentle cycle. Iron up to 110°C. No bleach, no dry cleaning. Linen softens with every wash rather than wearing out — treated properly, this shirt improves over a few seasons.
